Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 Results: Neelam Krishan Pahalwan Emerges Victorious in Najafgarh Constituency

The counting of votes for all 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 concluded on Saturday, validating pollsters’ predictions of a significant defeat for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Neelam Krishan Pahalwan, Tarun Kumar

Neelam Krishan Pahalwan of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a decisive victory in the Najafgarh constituency, defeating Tarun Kumar of AAP by a margin of 29,009 votes.

Both parties ran high-voltage campaigns in the lead-up to the elections, with BJP’s Narendra Modi and AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal vying for support from Delhi’s middle class. The BJP’s advantage was bolstered by the Union Government’s tax relief measures for the middle class announced in the February 1st Budget.

On the other hand, AAP faced setbacks due to controversies surrounding the liquor excise policy scam, which led to the imprisonment of senior leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia in Tihar Jail.

Key issues like development challenges, air pollution, and cleaning the Yamuna dominated the election narrative, with all major contenders offering election promises to sway voters. As the BJP successfully clinched Delhi from AAP, the Congress Party—AAP’s national ally—struggled, contesting the elections independently and failing to make a comeback.

Neelam Krishan Pahalwan’s victory in Najafgarh marks a significant achievement for the BJP, reinforcing the party’s growing influence in Delhi’s political landscape.
